The LAC Preschool staff is led by Kristin DeFelice, the Preschool Director, who has twelve years’ experience in Early Childhood Education. She served on the Preschool Advisory Council and stepped in as an Interim Director in January of 2020. She was appointed Director in January of 2021.
Each classroom is supervised by a Head Teacher who has expertise and specialized training in Early Childhood Education and who is assisted by trained assistant teachers.
Head Teachers have a minimum of an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field with courses specific to Early Childhood.
Assistant teachers are often working towards an ECE degree, a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) or equivalent, and/or have either an Associate’s degree or a Bachelor’s degree in a different field.
All teachers receive 15 hours of training in Early Childhood Education per year.
